Felipe Santiago, Middle School Editor

Felipe Santiago joins the editing staff this year as the Middle School editor after previously being a contributing writer. Outside of the Polygon, Felipe has a passion for leading and learning, being president of Unidad, the Hispanic/Latino affinity group at Poly, is a musical director at his church, where he has mentored younger boys for several years, is a MS Polygon Club Captain, and is also a writing tutor at Poly, as well. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the piano, listening to music, watching TV with his dad, and reading and writing. Santiago is also working on a full-length novel that he plans to get published over the summer and is currently working on his manuscript! Reticent as an individual by nature, especially with details surrounding the book, Santiago states that his novel will be a: “magical and wonderful/powerful exploration of the themes of the American government’s power and its historical corruption and exploits around the world, and how it connects to the world in the present day.” He also says he will explore themes of “dislocation, isolation/alienation, and the assimilation of the people who live here.” What he really also hopes to do is to share and spread his ideas with the world, leaving a positive impact and making it a better place for all through his work.
