Advanced Concert Choir’s Trip to Nola

The Advanced Concert Choir recently traveled 1,231 miles away from Poly to New Orleans. The trip was a combination of tourism and singing. The choir performed for audiences like a high school choir class and a retirement community. They listened to live music and performed in the French Quarter as the first performance of their four day tour. They visited Mardi Gras World and saw the creation of floats for the Mardi Gras parades, took a swamptour and an evening boat ride with live jazz, and went on a ghost sight-seeing tour.

After a good night’s rest, students headed out for a swamp tour. Tour guide Tom told students all about the animals that live in the swamp, and even let them feed raccoons. A definite highlight of the trip: taking turns holding a baby alligator amid a swamp tour led by a captivating tour guide who shared his experiences living on the swamp.
